A New Kind of Freedom

October 16, 2008

To me blogging is a new kind of freedom that allows a person to write what they think and then put it out there instantly for all to read.

I disagree because there are many other ways to talk over the net. Blogs are not the best or the most interesting way.

I think that blogging is freedom of speech for any person. A lot of people have blogs because they want to be able to say what they think about any thing they want. People can share their feelings and opinions by blogging them on blog sites. For example : if a person has an opinion on the American government and they want to say something about it , and see what other people say so they can see if they have a point or not. Blogs are just a way of saying something and then seeing if you can make a point or not.

I think that blogging is a new kind of freedom becuase it helps people in certain areas. for example : You are writing an essay on a topic. you could search a blog and read it. It could give you a lot of information for your essay. So at the end you could get a good grade because the blog helped you with your research. You may also want to be the one who wants to put a blog on the internet about something that is interesting or something that you had done research on and find that it should be included in the topic.

I agree and I also think that it is a great way of spreading your thoughts and ideas fast without any complications.

I do agree that blogging is a new kind of freedom, but freedom is when you are 100% free. You don’t have to take commands from anyone. Except watch out for YOURSELF. You are 100% free to write whatever you would like, but you ALWAYS have that voice in your head, reminding you of what other people think of you, The freedom is there, it just depends how you use it.

I say, yes blogging is a new kind of freedom to post whatever you want about anything you want to the vast internet web and look what other people think about it.

I agree with Ms Doty. Blogging is all about writing what you want to for other people to read and express their views on what you wrote, however sometimes it gets out of hand. But the orgininal purpose was to allow people to express their views on things freely. It is up to you if you abuse this freedom or use it wisely. However, I also believe that there are other ways to voice your opinions freely, but none of them are as free and easy to use as blogging.

I disagree because there are better ways to talk like email and its easier then blogging it.Not many people read blogs.

  •    leopardamaury  |  October 16th, 2008 at 2:03 am

I agree, because you can put any kinds of things on a blog like videos, pictures, links, info etc.
So, yes i do think that it is very useful

    I agree-
I think blogging is a very good way to put things out there, it’s a really simple way, and you can also see the opinions of other people.

I disagree because its easier just to talk on email. Not many people read blogs.

i disagree i think you can use better ways to cumunicate the reading off a blog. Its better to use something else to cumunicate.

  •    leopardjan  |  October 16th, 2008 at 2:05 am

uhh.. i disagree aswell, because I think hardly any people read blogs. I think why people don’t read blogs because there are other more original sites that have exact information of stuff, blogs are information coming from a random person.

  •    ollie  |  October 16th, 2008 at 2:06 am

Not many people read blogs, so I disagree with the part “for all to read”. I’ve had several blogs, and all failed. I think writing a blog is like talking to a brick wall blindfolded. You think you’re talking to everyone, but you’re just talking to yourself. I agree with the “new kind of freedom” part though.

I agree in the aspect in that you can voice your opnion on the internet, but there are so many websites on the internet it makes the chance of finding your blog very low. It would be more effective to post on a popular forum or site such as youtube.

  •    leopardkristiana  |  October 16th, 2008 at 2:06 am

I agree and disagree with Ms.Doty that blogging is a new way of freedom for others.
You can express your feelings without anyone telling you what you can and cannot do.
I think that blogging is a very interesting way of freedom , because you do have freedom , but then everyone in the whole world can see what you are writing about.
That is why i think blogging is freedom but then at times it is not freedom.

  •    leopardmohannad  |  October 16th, 2008 at 2:07 am

I agree because in the past you didn’t have as much freedom as now to write, and besides blogging is fun and easy way to spread some news or other things, I know this because last year I had to do a very big blog project.

  •    Arushi  |  October 16th, 2008 at 2:08 am

I agree that blogging is a new kind of freedom that allows people to write freely. It’s like a journal where you can post things that you are proud of or that you like.

  •    leopardelisabeth  |  October 16th, 2008 at 2:08 am

i agree, although there are other ways of posting what you think, a blog is a word that most people know. With blogs you can search what type of blog you would like to find and then you can look at it. Sure everyone can look at a website page, but blogs are something everyone knows. It is a newspaper, a way to get information about a person, while you can reply to the news maker and give them your thoughts as well. It is a way of communacating, it can be found easily, and everywhere people can see what you think. A universal newspaper that you can get off the internet, and reply to without it taking a long time!

  •    Neil  |  October 16th, 2008 at 2:09 am

I disagree because Blog isn’t the easiest way to communicate. There are many other things to communicate for instance msn. It is much easier to talk with msn then with the blog pages.

  •    leopardelisabeth  |  October 16th, 2008 at 2:10 am

And this newspaper is edited by you so you have lots of freedom as you said!

  •    leopardcandice  |  October 16th, 2008 at 2:11 am

Ms Doty, I agree with you when you say that it is a new freedom, a new way to write what they want, what ever they want. However I think that since the freedom is too great and people can write what ever they want, people might take advantage of the fact that they can write what ever they want and post something that may be offensive to other people or it may hurt other people so to whether its a good freedom to have would be under debate.

  •    Katrina M.  |  October 16th, 2008 at 2:11 am

My opinion is Yes, i agree with Ms Doty on her phrase on how blogging is like a freedom to be able to express what you believe, and that is what its about, expressing your opinion and what you truly believe in for all the people to see. Whether you disagree or agree, it doesnt matter, you have the freedom to say what you want, but using it in a polite way. Its up to you whether you use that freedom to be rude or inpolite, but thats not what its about. Its about communicating with people, and telling them about yourself,or what your inerested in.

  •    leopardcaraleigh  |  October 16th, 2008 at 2:12 am

    Ms. Doty,

I agree with you that blogging is a new kind of freedom that people can have around the world. But I feel that blogs give a person too much freedom to post what ever they want. I believe in freedom of speech and that every person has a right to express their opinions on things. However, I don’t trust the internet to hold my thoughts and opinions. There are people all over the world that could use the cyber world against you just because of a comment you left of how you thought and felt about something. I agree with you Ms.Doty, but to some extent.
